“Klemens Mikuła’s bench was unveiled at Malta
From September 21, you can sit on Malta in the company of Klemens Mikuła – the architect who designed the entire complex of the regatta course. The Klemens Mikuła bench was built on the initiative of the Foundation for the Development of the City of Poznań, and it was designed by the artist sculptor Roman Kosmala. The bench with the sculpture of the deceased architect was made in the Garstka Studio foundry in Szymanów near Śrem. The ceremony of unveiling the bench was attended by many famous personalities, including the former Mayor of the City of Poznań Andrzej Wituski and Łukasz Mikuła – grandson of Mr. Klemens and the current Councilor of the City of Poznań.

Klemens Mikuła is a graduate of the Construction High School in Poznań, Poznań University of Technology and Wrocław University of Technology. In the years 1956-1986 he was an employee of the Poznań Biuro Projektów Budownictwa Przemysłowego. For many years he was the vice-president of the Poznań branch of SARP. At the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, he developed architectural assumptions for the Malta Lake complex and its surroundings. For this project in 1993. he received the award of the Polish Olympic Committee “Złoty Wawrzyn Olimpijski”, and in 1999. Jan Baptiste Quadro Award. In the years 1994-2002, Klemens Mikuła was the Councilor of the City of Poznań. In 2003, he was awarded the title of Meritorious for the City of Poznań. He died on June 21, 2014. He was buried at the Junikowo cemetery in Poznań. “
