Squirrel
The squirrel sculpture is a charming and detailed work of art that captures the essence of the agile animal in a moment of alert movement. The squirrel is depicted on four paws, in a pose reminiscent of lurching or cautious steps on the ground, with its body slightly bent forward. Her tail, thick and fluffy in texture, floats in an elegant curved arc over her back, adding dynamism to the whole composition. The head is gently twisted to the side, with small, pointed ears set to listen, and the eyes – though carved in metal – seem full of life and curiosity about the world. The surface of the bronze is intricately textured: from smooth, shiny portions on the cheeks and nose to subtle, wavy lines imitating fur on the torso and paws. The base, stylized as an uneven stone or a piece of tree bark, stably seats the figurine. A light patina gives the bronze a warm, earthy tone, making the sculpture look antique and full of history. Ideal as a decoration for the home or garden, it symbolizes the cleverness, vitality and charm of forest creatures, inspiring smiles and admiration for the artist’s craftsmanship.
