Monument to Greater Poland Insurgents
The monument was designed by sculptor Wieslaw Koronowski. The monument was three years in the making and was unveiled on December 21, 2018 to mark the 100th anniversary of the uprising. The inscription on the pedestal reads “To the insurgents of the Wielkopolska Region of Sredzka Glory.”
The monument depicts three armed soldiers walking under the wings of an eagle, which takes flight. The monument stood on the square of the Wielkopolska Insurgents next to the High School, whose patron is also the insurgents.
The organizer of the Wielkopolska Uprising in Sroda Wielkopolska was Father Mieczyslaw Meissner, pastor of the collegiate church in Sroda Wielkopolska.
