Lechoslaw Marshal’s bench
The monument was created on the initiative of the “Reksio” Foundation of Helena and Lechoslaw Marszalek. The author is Professor Wieslaw Koronowski with the cooperation of Professor Jaroslaw Bogucki.
Lechoslaw Zygmunt Marszalek, born March 9, 1922 in Suwalki, was a Polish director and screenwriter of animated films.
He created the visual and literary development of the dog Reksio and for 23 years (1967-1990) made 18 animated films featuring this cult hero, which were created at the Drawing Film Studio in Bielsko-Biala.
Lechoslaw Marszalek has made about 60 films for children (including “Bolek and Lolek,” “Mrs. Twardowska,” “Donkey in a Lion’s Skin,” “About a White Bear,” “Corrida”).

The statue was installed in Bielsko-Biala at the end of August 2023, and the ceremonial unveiling took place on September 1, 2023.
