Florian Dabrowski

Florian Dabrowski – bronze statue made for the Heroes of the Spring of Nations Shooting Fraternity in Książ Wlkp. The author of the sculpture is the esteemed Poznan sculptor Rafal Nowak.

The statue is a tribute to the commander of the defense of Książ Wlkp during the Battle of Książ on April 29, 1848.

“The major did not die from wounds received in the battle, he was left as a wounded soldier. “The four-hour battle for Książ so enraged the Prussian landers that after the surrender they slaughtered wounded soldiers and civilians. More people died in 15 minutes than during the battle. Among other things, they stabbed a wounded commander with bayonets and stabbed him with flasks.”
