Plague of Marian Schwartz

Plaque of Marian Schwartz. It was cast in bronze due to order of the citizens of Obrzycko.
A few words about history.
He was a son of Bruno Schwartz, owner of a painting workshop, and Jadwiga Buszkowski. In his father’s workshop, he learned the first secrets of artistic craft. He graduated from the School of Decorative Arts and Arts in Poznań in two faculties – the Department of Decorative Painting and Stained Glass and the Interior Design Department.
Then after military service in Śrem and in Bielsko he returned to his hometown of Obrzycko in 1930. This year he also designed a stand for Rome for the International Tourist and Communication Exhibition in Poznań. He took an active part in regional cultural life. He belonged to the “Windy Pen” artistic and literary club in Szamotuły.
Several diploma and master’s theses have been written about Marian Schwartz. He died at the age of 94. He is buried in the parish cemetery in Obrzycko. For artistic creativity, educational and cultural activities, he was awarded, among others, the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Badge of Merit of a Culture Activist, the awards of the Minister of Education and Education and the Council of Pedagogical Progress.
