Andrzej Zawada was a pioneer of winter mountaineering. As friends say about him, a man is a legend. The only person who could organize such difficult Himalayan expeditions to K2 and Mont Everest in winter. Liked, the life and soul of the party, a visionary. He opened a new era in global mountaineering and was a Pole. We can be very proud.
The Mountain Festival held annually in Lądek Zdrój was named after him.
