As the city office explains, the presented city plan refers to the one drawn up in 1780 by engineer Harnisz.
“A copy of it is in the museum. The metric at the bottom notes that it is a “mappa wymierzenia Miasta y Przedmieścieia Miedzyrzecza w Wielkiey Polski.”
– The map is the aftermath of the Four-Year Sejm, during which deputies decided to develop plans of all royal towns,” noted Ryszard Patorski, an expert in the history of the Miedzyrzecka region.
